So...I got back home this morning from the crazy weekend known as McDowell Mountain Music Festival! What a ride! And, I'm not just referring to the music! There was a crazy wind storm overnight last night...started just at the tail end of John Butler Trios set and went right on through the night! The campground looked mighty reminiscent of the campgrounds last year after the monsoon! So many tents and shade structures demolished!!! But still - what a crazy experience!!!
I will give more in-depth reviews tomorrow (i'm extremely tired and definitely need to get some sleep)...but I wanted to let you all know that Grace Potter and the Nocturnals and Robert Randolph & the Family Band were my standouts for Friday, and JJ Grey & MOFRO and the John Butler Trio were my standouts for Saturday! The local bands gave fantastic performances and I know that they will at least double their fanbase just based on their sets at MMMF this weekend!
I will also have tons of pics to share! So, keep your eyes open for them!
More to follow tomorrow!
