This is a very complex issue. Anytime anyone tries to rank anything creative and therefore subjective, it gets messy. I hate when people ask me my top five movies or my favorite bands. I mean come on. How does one really choose something like that? Each creative endeaver offers it's own blend of good and band. For example in this case with Bonnaroo versus Jazz Fest in New Orleans... Jazz fest has the history, while Bannaroo has the all encompassing 3 days of camping and grooving with an absolutely gigantic lineup. Jazz Fest is in a city that never sleeps (it passes out) and parties until it gets there. Bonnaroo is in fucking Tennessee. Now do i think that THIS YEAR'S Jazz Fest will go down as one of those rare moments along with the Jimi Monterey Pop year and that famous Newport Jazz Fest year with Miles and co.? It very well could. Does Bonnaroo have that same chance? No fucking way. HOWEVER... Bonnaroo is going to draw the masses on a scale very rarely seen. I mean the numbers going just for Radiohead are astronomical. So what are they ranked 3 and 4? Make it 3a and 3b. Or fucking have them tied for 3rd or whatever. But to get into an arguement about which is better or ranked higher is rediculous. Ask yourself this. Who was better, the Beatles or the Stones. Whichever you choose, I disagree. Get it?
