In Basque culture, eleven (hamaika) means infinite, most likely because it is the first number not represented by counting on one's fingers. Similarly, This is Spinal Tap taught us to exceed manmade limits by cranking past ten and up to eleven. Apollo 11 stretched the dreams of mankind when it brought us to the moon. Eleven is also the number of dimensions in M-theory's superstring space/time continuum and the first master number in numerology; the eleventh tarot card is justice. It is only fitting, then, that the Gathering of the Vibes will be celebrating its eleventh year of bringing great music and people together. This year, the good folks over at Vibes will be opening the doors a day early - Thursday, August 17th - and keeping the festivities rockin' through Sunday, August 20th at the fabled Indian Lookout Country Club.
